Dumpster or Donation?

At the Magnussons, we try to help everyone with their personal property concerns. However, we all have items with little or no resale value in our homes that we would like to banish from our lives. It is not always worth paying a professional to help sell or remove these objects. What do you do with items that are still useful, but you no longer want?Frequently, these items just end up in the garbage can.In 2013, the EPA found that the American population threw out 254 million tons of trash[1]. Sending your unwanted home contents to the landfills burdens to local municipal stations, frequently harms the environment, and wastes objects that could receive a second life elsewhere. Instead of throwing out perfectly good objects, consider donating your "junk" instead. You have the option of helping a wide variety of worthy causes, while putting money back in your pocket at tax time!

Unsure What & Where To Donate?

Here are a few Charitable Organizations that accept donations of unwanted items. The Purple Heart Foundation helps veterans adjust to life back home. Military families in need receive emotional, medical and financial services. Our own Kevin Magnusson is an army veteran, so supporting the troops is especially important to us. If you would like to help Purple Heart, donate your gently-used clothing. The organization will even pick up your items right at your curb! Learn More About Donating Your Used Clothing.
