What’s Hot and Cool at the Same Time?

Cool trends are on the horizon for 2023, all of which will, no doubt, find a way into your home soon.  Happy New Year!

Chinoiserie Design
Elegant vintage black lacquer case goods or screens with gilt paint decorated landscape scenes are statement pieces in any home.  Interest is strong in mid-century looks that feature bamboo, lotus, fish, and dragon motifs.  Asian ceramics, whether Japanese, Chinese Export or Korean vessels are fun to decorate with.

Natural Themes
Curvaceous forms and drama imbued elements from marble planters to organic edge tables are all in.  Vintage wood adds warmth to mid-century modern look.  Driftwood, bamboo or rattan side tables, antique baskets, and lots of vintage pillows, throws and rugs, add softness to any interior. 

Personality
The pandemic brought greater respect for family and their collections.  Family heirlooms (timepieces, toys), travel (specimen globes, antique maps) or personal interest expressions (concert posters, coffee table books) add warmth and depth to a home. 

Pantone Color of the Year
From the innovative Very Peri to the brave Viva Magenta.  Another jewel tone to add to the decorating mix, it will work well with Chinoiserie elements.
