To Be Or Not To Be: Life as an Appraiser

I’m not sure why, but, all our clients are really nice people. After 22 years in the field, I am blessed to meet someone new every day, learn something new everyday, and teach someone new every day. Our business brings in interesting jobs on a daily basis. Even so, the places we visit and the people we meet can be more interesting than the job itself. The stories that accompany collections need to be told, heard, and remembered.

At the Magnusson Group, we take pride in being a part of these meaningful projects! On any given day, a typical job may be: Identifying and Valuing ancient (1st-3rd c. Persian) pottery for asset management purposes, valuing Luxury handbags for equitable distribution in a divorce, valuing a tool collection for equitable distribution of an estate, appraising an art collection for homeowner’s insurance, selling the contents of a well-known interior designer’s home, negotiating a client’s collection of paintings and sculpture to sell at auctions, or appraising home contents exposed to mold for litigation purposes.
